Jennifer Hudson's New Song, "I Remember Me", Unveiled Today

 

Jennifer Hudson premiered her new song today, "I Remember Me", via live video stream.  Fans were able to watch the video on her website JenniferHudson.com or Facebook page.  Antimusic.com reported that Jennifer talked about her new album and song and took questions from the viewing audience.

Jennifer will also be honored by ESSENCE, a media outlet geared toward African-American women. ESSENCE is honoring "Simply the Best" Black actresses in Hollywood.  The fourth annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood luncheon will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel during Oscar week.

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry, Not On Speaking Terms?

Has the fight over Nahla begun?  This week's People Magazine reported that a pal of French Actor, Olivier Martinez, has said that Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry may not be on speaking terms.  When the pair split up, last April, it seemed to be amicable, but Aubry recently filed a petition to be formally recognized as Nahla's father and to officially share custody.  Why?  Inside sources say that once Halle starting dating Olivier Martinez things seemed to change.  Seems like he's trying to protect his rights.

Besides winning a SAG Award, for her leading role in "Black Swan" for Best Actress last night, Natalie had to be escorted on the Red Carpet by security guards.  Why, you ask?  The actress donned $2 million dollars worth of Tiffany jewels!  Way to go!  In her acceptance speech, last night, The Huffington Post reported that Natalie handed out a little advice.  She said,

"My parents who taught me to work my hardest and never be an a**hole.  It's never acceptable."

Nice, everyone could use that advice!  This is Natalie's second award this month.  She's right off of a Golden Globe win.  Is Oscar next?  We hope so!

It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's.... Henry Cavill! Meet Superman

The handsome Brit, star of HBO's "The Tudors", has landed the role of Superman in Warner Bros. remake of the movie, according to "People Magazine".  Zack Snyder, director of the upcoming flick, said,

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen," said the 300 and Watchmen director in a statement released Sunday. "I also join Warner Bros. and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield."

In 2005 he went up against Christian Bale for the role of Batman and lost.  This more than makes up for that loss.  Congrats Henry and Good Luck!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Have Done It......

Yes, they can now claim the throne at Bravo TV.  They have succeeded in becoming the highest rated "Housewives" show to date.  Last Sunday's episode pulled in a record 3.43 million viewers, the show's highest ratings ever!  Last season, the show pulled in about 2.9 million viewers per week.  Initially, The RHOA started off slow this season, airing on Monday night.  The show was moved to Sunday night, where the ratings quickly took off.

With that said, get ready for some competition Atlanta!  Bravo is airing it's newest show in March.  "The Real Housewives of Miami" will join the "Housewives" franchise.  In the meantime, The RHOA season finale airs tonight, at 10pm, followed by the next two weeks of "reunion" shows.  The reunion will be shot at the Georgia Aquarium.

Demi Lovato Completes Rehab Stint!

The LATimes has reported that Demi Lovato has returned home from her 90-day stint in rehab.  She had entered rehab after an incident with one of her dancers, while on tour with the Jonas Brothers.  Demi, known for having a "cutting" disorder and other emotional and physical issues, reportedly got into a fight with one of her dancer's (Alex Welch), giving her a black-eye. 

In addition to being a recording artist, Demi star's in the Disney Channels "Sonny With a Chance".  It is not known when she will return to the show.  Demi also recently won two People's Choice Awards

Lea Michele To Sing At The Superbowl

It's confirmed! Lea Michele, of "Glee",  has been invited to sing, "America the Beautiful", at the Superbowl, in Dallas, TX, on February 6th.   According to AceShowBiz.com, Lea will sing before the kick-off between Greenbay and the Steelers (go Steelers!;).

Also confirmed are Christina Aguilera, singing the National Anthem and the Black-Eyed Peas performing during the half-time show.  Lea's show, "Glee", will be on right after the Superbowl where the cast will be performing in a sports-theme episode. Lea will perform cover songs of Katy Perry, Michael Jackson and Lady Antebellum.

Charlie Sheen Checks Into Rehab

According to Yahootv, Charlie Sheen has voluntarily checked himself into rehab.  Good for him!  It seems as though he may have had a little help from his family in making that decision.  Nonetheless, only he can make the decision to get rehabilitation.  I posted earlier today that Charlie was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, in LA , yesterday, for a reported hiatal hernia.  This move comes a day after that scare, so maybe that experience scared the heck out of him.  Sources told "Access Hollywood" that Charlie was driven to Promises rehab, in Malibu, by his father, actor Martin Sheen.

The actor's hit comedy, "Two and a Half Men" will go on hiatus, presumably until Charlie completes his rehab stint.  A rep for CBS said,

"Due to Charlie Sheen's decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing 'Two and a Half Men' on production hiatus," CBS said in a statement. "We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision."

Rihanna's Album, "Loud", Going Platinum in the US?

Rihanna's new album, Loud, will most likely be certified platinum in the coming weeks.   The album had a slow start, but seems to be picking up speed.  Singersroom.com repoted that Loud debuted at # 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, with only 200,000 units sold.  Now, over 830,000 copies have sold.  Loud was released on November 12, 2010.

At this point, who cares, but let's hear it anyway!  "People Magazine" reports Helena likes to break all the fashion rules.  Good for her!  Right?..... Okay, she says,

"Why not wear mismatching shoes? Who says we can’t? I was just having fun. For me, fashion is all about fantasy and putting unlikely things together. That’s what I love. I genuinely love dressing up."

She even went so far as to say that she may wear the same outfit to the Oscars, but with matching shoes!  Helena has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The King's Speech.

Charlie Sheen was hospitalized yesterday, after a long, wild night of partying with five women (one was a porn star, no surprise there).  He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, in LA, where he was, reportedly, diagnosed with a hiatal hernia (painful!), according to TMZ.com.

CBS Entertainment (which airs Charlie's sitcom, "Two and a Half Men") President, Nina Tassler, has expressed concern for Charlie.  She says,

“We have a high level of concern. How can we not?  Let me speak personally first . . . This man is a father, he has children, he has a family . . . Charlie is a professional. He comes to work, he does his job extremely well . . . On a personal level, we obviously have concern. On a professional level, he does his job and he does it well. This show is a hit.  That's all I have to say."

I guess that says it all!  Charlie has already inked a multi-million dollar deal to stay on the show for two more seasons.  "Two and a Half Men" is the most watched comedy in prime time.

Julianne Moore has been named "Woman of the Year" by Harvard's Hasty Pudding theatrical society.  According to IndexOnline, the Hasty Pudding is the nation's oldest collegiate theatrical group.  Jay Leno has also been named Hasty Puddings "Man of the Year".  Last year, Anne Hathaway and Justin Timberlake got the awards.  Julianne is being honored because the society feels that Julianne,

"is an actress of exceptional range" who "has delivered outstanding work in both box-office hits and independent features."

Actually, Chelsea ended the relationship....  Anyway, when I first heard these two were a couple, I didn't believe it and I still didn't believe it...., until I got the news that they broke up!  Really!!  The pair broke up right before the Xmas holiday.  Apparently, Fiddy is not taking it well.  According to M&C, he plied her with gifts during the Xmas holiday, but she sent them back stating, "I can buy my own gifts."  Chelsea apparently dumped him for Uma Thurman's ex-boyfriend, hotelier Andre Balazs.

Update: Bret Michaels Released From Hospital

Bret Michaels was released from the hospital today.  His surgery, to close the hole in his heart, was very successful.  His surgeon, Dr. Mansour Assar, told Hollywood Life that, "Bret's procedure had excellent results," and that Brett should return to normal activity very soon.  Bret's surgery took place in Phoenix, AZ at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.  Bret has a home in nearby Scottsdale, AZ.

Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Welcome A Baby Boy!

Penelope Cruz, 36 and husband Javier Bardem, 41 (Bardem was nominated for an Oscar yesterday), welcomed a new bundle of joy, a baby boy!  According to NYDailyNews.com, Penelope's hometown newspaper, "El Pais", reported the actress gave birth, on Tuesday, at Cedars Sanai Hospital, in LA.  The couple married, last year, in the Bahamas.  This is the first child for the couple.

 Both are already Oscar winners.   Penelope, for her role in Woody Allen's "Vicky Christina Barcelona" and Javier, for his role in "No Country For Old Men".  Bardem got the Oscar nomination nod, yesterday, for his role in "Biutiful".

50 Cent A Film Exec?

50 Cent has started a new production company called "Mayweather Productions" and his partner is none other than, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.  According to PerezHilton.com, Fiddy will play a "behind-the-scenes" role in the company.  I guess acting is taking a back seat to producing for Fiddy.  His partner Floyd says,

"We're going to do what we normally do: sit in a room and brainstorm and try to come up with new ideas … you know, outside the box. Be creative and just work together and try to be positive. That's the main thing. It's about working hard, being positive and working together."

Natalie Portman has gotten the nod for an Oscar nomination, for her performance in Black Swan, according to HispanicBusiness.com. She just won a Golden Globe for her performance in the movie. Often, winning a Golden Globe is a good sign that one may receive an Oscar as well. Natalie told Us.com that,

"I am so honored and grateful to the academy for the recognition."

In Black Swan, Natalie plays a ballerina who is tortured by her personal and professional life. Natalie is expecting her first child with fiance Benjamin Millepied.

Tim McGraw, 43 and Faith Hill, 43 have been married for 14 years.  Tim tells People Magazine that,

"I'll never do better than I've done with Faith, and I live every day by that credo," then he says.  "We'll be together forever."

The pair have three kids, Gracie, 13, Maggie, 12 and Audrey, 9.  Faith's take is,

"Marriage takes work, but it's a labor of love."

Oprah's "Secret" Revealed!

 If you don't know the secret, I'm going to tell you now.  Oprah reunited with the half-sister she didn't know she had all these years!  Oprah made the announcement, yesterday, on her show, "The Oprah Winfery Show".  The pair met, last year, on Thanksgiving Day.  The woman, named Patricia, found out that the two were related back in 2007, when she was searching for years to find out the identity of the mother who had put her up for adoption in 1963.  Oprah only learned of Patricia's existence in November of 2010.  Patricia has two kids.

Everyone keeps waiting for George Clooney to pop the question to his Italian actress/model girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis.  Yahoo!TV reported on Sunday that, last week, on Piers Morgan Tonight, George's father, Nick, said he "yearned for the moment" when George would marry Canalis.  George's response to his father's "yearning" was,

"I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married, so I gave it a shot."

George's father, Nick, and his mother, Nina, have been married for over 50 years.  Many people forget that George was married, from 1989-1993, to actress Talia Balsam, 51.  Today, you can see his ex-wife play a recurring role on Mad Men.  She is also starring in the new Ashton Kutcher/Natalie Portman movie, No Strings Attached, as Natalie Portman's mom.

Bret Michaels Underwent Heart Surgery Today

Bret Michaels underwent heart surgery today, to close a hole in his heart.  The Associated Press reported that Bret will undergo a procedure called cardiac catheterization.  When physicians perform this procedure, they put a catheter into the vein, via the groin, and direct wires and a device to close the hole in the heart.  Cameras assist the physicians, as the operate to repair the hole in the heart.    The closure device is a permanent device that will stay inside Bret's heart forever, in order to help maintain normal blood flow.

Nicki Minaj Performing On SNL This Weekend

Nicki Minaj will be performing on SNL this weekend.  It will be Nicki's first appearance on the show.  Her album, Pink Friday, has gone platinum and she is in demand.  According to MTV, she will most likely perform her new single, Moment 4 Life, featuring Drake.  Meanwhile, in London, Nicki got thrown out of her hotel, due to fan fights.  Nicki was staying at the exclusive Dorchester Hotel.  Fans apparently sprayed graffiti inside and outside of the elevator doors.  One fan was also rush to the hospital.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's New Bundle Of Joy!

 

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban revealed, in this week's People Magazine, that they recently had a daughter, via surrogate.  This was a highly guarded secret, as their daughter, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, was born on December 28, 2010.  They are both the biological parents of the baby.

Nicole and Keith shared the news, the day after the Golden Globes.  Nicole had spoken in the past about the difficulty she had in conceiving children.  During her marriage to Tom Cruise, Nicole suffered two miscarriages.  She said,

"It took me so long to get pregnant and have a baby, so I have enormous gratitude."

Baby Faith joins their other biological daughter, Sunday Rose, along with Nicole's other adopted children, Isabella, 18 and Connor, 15, with Tom Cruise.  Congratulation to you both!

Oprah's "Reunion" Show

Who will Oprah be reunited with, on her show tomorrow?  Everyone is guessing, but it's a closely guarded secret!  On Thursday's show, Oprah revealed to her audience that she would have a personal, on-air reunion, on Monday's show.  She says,

"I thought I'd seen it all.  But this, my friends, is the miracle of all miracles.  I was given some news that literally shook me to my core.  This time, I'm the one being reunited."  she continues, "I was keeping a family secret for months, and on Monday, you're going to hear it straight from me."

According to ABC News, celebrity biographer, Kitty Kelley, who wrote an unauthorized biography of Oprah last year, is speculating that it could be a "secret" half-sister of Oprah's, that was put up for adoption as a baby.  Kitty also makes another allegation that Vernon Winfrey is not Oprah's biological father, so Oprah may be reuniting with her real father.

We'll certainly know for sure tomorrow!  I'm watching!  What about you?

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill" Pulls in Bravo's Second Highest Ratings for the Franchise!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has done it!  They set a record for "Total Viewers" at 4.2 million viewers in combined primetime telecasts.  According to TV by the Numbers, this means that Bravo ranked No. 1  in the 9PM timeslot among adults age 18-49 vs. all cable competition.  Their only other competition, in the franchise, is The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which has ranked marginally better.  Take a look at the previews below, for this week's reunion show!

Monica's Secret Nuptials to Lakers Guard, Shannon Brown, Revealed!

R&B singer, Monica, secretly wed LA Lakers Guard, Shannon Brown, on November 22, 2010 at their LA home.  The couple plans to have an "official" wedding ceremony sometime in June, 2011.  I guess they were so in love, they couldn't wait!  Good for them!  Monica said,

"This is a very special time in my life. I am blessed to have married the man that God sent me, he's loving, compassionate, strong and supportive of my children, family and career. I look forward to our lives together."

Monica also has a solo studio album coming out entitled, New Life.  This will be Monica's 7th solo album.  In 2010, her album, Still Standing, went gold.

Brit's back!  Britney Spears single, Hold It Against Me, debuted at #1, its opening week, on Billboards Hot 100 singles chart.  According to Billboard, Britney becomes the second artist, in Billboard's 52-year history, to have more than one single debut at the top, in its first week.  The only other singer, to have more than one #1 singles in their first week, was Mariah Carey.  Mariah's Fantasy and One Sweet Day in 1995 and Honey in 1997. 

Meanwhile, MTV has leaked that Britney may be collaborating with Gucci Mane (yeah, you heard about him, the one with a tattoo of an ice cream cone on his face!) on a song.  That could be good or not....  I guess we'll have to wait and see!

"Baby On Board" For Ivanka Trump!

Ivanka Trump, 29 and her husband, Jared Kushner are expecting their first child.  According to SFGate.com, Ivanka made the announcement Friday, on Twitter, stating,

"I have been wanting to share some amazing news with you all for some time... I'm pregnant!
Jared and I couldn't be more excited."

Ivanka is due to give birth this summer.  Congrats Ivanka and Jared!

Adele, Topping the UK Music Charts!

Okay, it's not official, but it will be soon!  Adele is rising to the top of the UK pop singles chart, fast, with her single, Rolling in the Deep.  The single is struggling in the US, peaking at #68.  Britney's new single, Hold It Against Me, reigns supreme here, in the US, at #1.  Britney's single is #6 on the UK charts.  This will be Adele's first #1 single on the UK charts.  Congrats Adele!  You deserve it!

Beyonce and Clint Eastwood To Work Together!

Oscar-wining actor/director Clint Eastwood, will be directing Beyonce in the remake of "A Star Is Born".  Eastwood made the announcement on Thursday, although no official deal has been finalized, with negotiations still ongoing.  This is a big coupe for Beyonce, whose aspirations are for an Oscar one day.

This will be the fourth remake of the movie, previously done in 1954, with Judy Garland and James Mason, 1976 with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson and the original version, in 1937, featuring Janet Gaynord and Federic March.

According to Deadline Hollywood, leading men, on the short list, include Will Smith and Jon Hamm of "Mad Men" fame.  Other rumored names include Eddie Murphy and Robert Downey, Jr.

Jennifer Hudson – Where You At (New Music Snippet) And I Remember Me Album Release Date Revealed!

JHud's new sophmore album, titled "I Remember Me",  is due in stores on March 22nd.  The first single, "Where You At", will be released the week of January 24th.  The single was written and produced by R. Kelley.

Other contributors to the album include Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Ne-Yo and Rich Harrison.  The title track was co-written by One Republic's Ryan Tedder, based on a peom written by JHud.  According to Rap-Up.com,  JHud says,

“I’m excited about this album because it’s almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life.  I’ve called it I Remember Me because of the journey I’ve been on. I’ve learned that life constantly surprises you, no matter your plans. My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can’t wait for them to hear the new album.”

George Clooney contracts malaria on his visit to Sudan, Africa

George Clooney tells Piers Morgan, of CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, that on a recent trip to the Sudan, representing the UN, he contracted malaria.  Piers interview with George airs tonight, on CNN.  This is Clooney's second bout with the disease.  He reportedly, also contracted it last month too, while visiting Sudan.  The actor is said to be taking medication to treat the malaria.  We hope you get well soon George!  Good Luck!

In one weekend (in early January, 2011), Charlie Sheen has reportedly run up a $26,000 tab for prostitutes!  RadarOnline has reported that Charlie has been living in a "drug-fueled trance", in Las Vegas, that has included cocaine and paid-for-sex.  The $1.8 million dollar man (that's what he gets per-episode for "Two and a Half Men") reportedly paid at least $10,000 for one prostitute, named Ginger, for four hours of sex.  He also spent time with three porn stars that weekend!  We can only hope that Charlie will eventually get his act together.  Let's hope!

 Anne Hathaway has been cast to play, "Selina Kyle", otherwise known as "Catwoman" in Christopher Nolan's, "The Dark Knight Rises".  This is Nolan's third directed Batman film.  Anne supossedly beat out some heavy contenders (reportedly, Jessica Biel and Keira Knightly) for the part.  Yahoo! Movies reports that Warner Bros. have not officially named "Catwoman" as part of the film, but it is worth noting that "Selina Kyle" is commonly known as "Catwoman".  Congratulations Anne!  Anne also just nabbed a guest appearance on "Glee".   She's playing "Kurt's" (Chris Colfer) lesbian aunt.   Must be nice to be in demand!

J. Lo's New Single, "On The Floor" Sounds Suspiciously Familiar...

Critics are saying that J. Lo's new song, "On The Floor", sounds suspiciously familiar to young hispanic superstar, Kat DeLuna's "Party O'Clock", lyrically and musically.  According to the NY Daily News.com, Kat DeLuna's record was released in November, in Europe.  Both songs were produced by Grammy nominated, RedOne.  It is not known whether J. Lo knows about the similarity.  J. Lo's single was leaked to the web on Friday.

Kat DeLuna seems to be flattered by it, saying,

"It's cool that artists like J.Lo are inspired by my musical sound and style.  Jennifer helped pave the way for Latinas like myself. I love her."

January Jones, 32, of "Mad Men" fame,  has repotedly split from her boyfriend of 6 months, Jason Sudeikis, 35.  Jason, a writer and actor for "Saturday Night Live" and January have not confirmed the split, but US Weekly reported that she did not bring him as a date to the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.  Sources say that the long distance relationship was too difficult.  She lives in LA and Jason lives in the NYC.  January plays "Betty" on "Mad Men".

Halle Berry will not be playing Aretha Franklin in a biopic of the singer, despite Aretha Franklin requesting the actress to do it.  According to E! News, Halle said,

"If I could carry a tune, I'd consider it.  Someone should tell Aretha that I can't do her justice."

I think Jennifer Hudson would be perfect!  Meanwhile, TMZ reported that Halle's Ex, Gabriel Aubry, has filed a petition, asking a judge to legally declare him the father of their 2 year-old daughter, Nahla.  Sources say that he is only trying to protect his legal rights as a father.  No petition for custody, visitation or support has ever been filed by the couple.

Online, Christina Aguilera and Julianne Hough reportedly got into a spat at the pre-party for the Golden Globes.  No one seems to know what the fight was about, but it is rumored that the two did not get along during the filming of their movie, "Burlesque".

Okay, sorry to say there were more people on the "Worst Dressed" list, than the "Best Dressed" list this year!  I'm not trying to be mean, but, what were they thinking!  Jennifer Love Hewitt's dress looked like a big tulip!  Christina Aguilera and Helena Bonham Carter's dresses looked Goth-like and Heidi Klum?  Well, I don't know what to say about her dress!  I can truthfully say that I was not impressed with the fashion for the Globes this year.  What do you think?  Am I being to harsh?  I know the Academy Awards fashion will be much better (I hope.....).  Vote on who you think was the "Worst Dressed" below.
