John Travolta Says Scientology Helps Keep His Marriage Strong

John Travolta and Kelly Preston

John Travolta talked about the the state of his marriage with Extra and revealed that Scientology is the key to a happy marriage.

“Communication is number one, but our church does a lot to help us keep together. When we have issues, we go settle it up. Almost every six months we go and do a retrofit of what we are thinking, what we need and want and we match it up with what the other needs and wants… If you don’t do that you kind of get stale a little bit. Certainly our children have kept us tied together.” I wish I was making these quotes up. My take is that John truly loves Kelly (I believe it), BUT he also loves dong. And it’s a deep love, and if it weren’t for Scientology, the love of dong might win out. That’s my “translation”.
John also discussed baby Ben: “Oh my gosh he’s amazing. He is so bright, cute, healthy and wonderful. He has a smile for everybody, he brightens everybody’s day. He’s quite a baby. He’s starting to crawl, he’s just wonderful.”

New Video: Lady Gaga-"The Edge Of Glory"

This video and song reminds me of the music of the 80's and how appropriate, a saxophone performance by the late Clarence Clemons.  Video could have been inspired by "Flashdance"!

Clarence Clemons, Beloved Saxaphonist From Bruce Springteen's E Street Band, Dies

Clarence Clemons

Sad new today.  Clarence Clemons, legendary saxophonist and member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band died today.

Clarence Clemons, legendary saxophonist and the mountain of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, passed away on Saturday after suffering a stroke last week in Florida. He was 69.
Clemons, a Norfolk, Virginia native, joined what would become the E Street Band in 1972 after meeting Springsteen in an Asbury Park club – whose doors he allegedly tore off in the middle of a lightening storm. Indeed, Clemons, both in physique and personality, was larger than life.
In a statement, Springsteen reflected fondly of his bandmate and friend.
"Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years. He was my great friend, my partner, and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band."
Clemons played with numerous other artists, including Ringo Starr and Aretha Franklin. He also released five solo albums, as well as a semi-fictional autobiography in 2009.
His health began to falter in recent years, and he had recently undergone spinal fusion surgery and had both knees replaced. But even those obstacles didn’t stop him from keeping his mighty alto sax echoing through the consciousness of a new generation of music lovers; Clemons featured in the new single from Lady Gaga, “Edge of Glory.”
Gaga can speak for her own celebrity, but it’s fair to say that Clemons’ legend far surpassed any such boundaries.

Clarence will be greatly missed!  I am a child of the 80's and I took saxophone lessons in high school because of Clarence.

Check out some of his memorable legendary saxophone performances.

Sean Bean

Actor, Sean Bean, star of HBO's 'Game of Thrones' was stabbed outside a bar in Camden, London.

Angelina Jolie Poses For First Louis Vuitton Campaign Photo

Angelina Jolie photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton

Wow!  This is a gorgeous picture taken by Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton.  The only crappy thing is that Angelina is posing with a bag that is no longer in production....and it's a HOT bag!

She’s barefoot, wearing her own clothes, no makeup and toting her own elegantly weathered monogrammed Alto bag. Yet Angelina Jolie looks radiant and completely in her element, reclining on a wooden boat in a verdant, lakeside landscape in Cambodia’s Siem Reap province. Jolie discovered the country in 2000 when she filmed “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” and it sparked her humanitarian activism.
She’s the latest celebrity to pose for Louis Vuitton’s popular “Core Values” campaign — and surely the only one who brought four children to the photo shoot, some of whom had to be shooed out of Annie Leibovitz’s frame.
“People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation,” said Pietro Beccari, Vuitton’s executive vice president, unveiling the image exclusively to WWD. “I like the fact that it’s a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand.”
The ad is slated to break in the International Herald Tribune on Wednesday, followed by a range of news, general interest and lifestyle publications, including Vanity Fair.
Beccari declined to disclose budgets for the media buy, or comment on reports Vuitton paid the American actress millions for the shoot. He would only say Jolie donated an undisclosed portion of her fees to a charity.
The campaign is expected to run for at least 18 months alongside a few other recent “core values” personalities, including Bono and Sean Connery. Vuitton introduced the advertising concept in 2007 as a way to trumpet its travel roots and showcase its perennial monogrammed leather goods as a balance to its fashion-driven marketing — and to reach a broader audience. Other personalities who have posed for Vuitton include Mikhail Gorbachev, Keith Richards and Catherine Deneuve.
Also on Wednesday, Vuitton plans to post a teaser on its Web site, louisvuittonjourneys.com/cambodia, foreshadowing an interview with Jolie that will be posted later in the month. In it, she is expected to discuss how her visit to Cambodia was a life-changing experience, awakening her to the plight of Third World countries. She adopted her eldest son, Maddox, from Cambodia and she and Brad Pitt established the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which is active in community development and conservation in the country.
“This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey,” Beccari said.
And a storied handbag. Beccari showed off several paparazzi shots of Jolie toting the Alto carryall, which is believed to be at least six years old. The style is no longer in production, but “we are considering to re-edit it,” Beccari noted.

Men Arrested In Plot To 'Cause Really Serious Harm' To Singer Joss Stone

Joss Stone

Boy, Joss Stone is really lucky!  Thanks to neighbors who reported suspicious activity, Joss Stone is safe.  This story should remind all of us that the world can be a scary place and we need to all be aware of our surroundings.

Two men in their early 30s have been arrested near British singer Joss Stone's isolated U.K. farmhouse, allegedly with swords, rope, and a body bag in their car. Police believe the two were plotting to rob the 24-year-old star, or at minimum "cause her some really serious harm," the Telegraph reports.
Police began investigating the pair's red Fiat Punto after neighbors reported seeing a suspicious car on their quiet country roads. Cops first arrested the duo for weapons possession Monday morning; the charges were later escalated to conspiracy to rob and murder.
Investigators have not identified the two men who drove 250 miles to rural Devon from Manchester, and refuse to confirm what exactly was found in their car, but U.K. papers are reporting the pair also were in possession of floor plans and aerial photos of Stone's property. Police are still trying to determine their motive -- whether they resented her success or simply targeted her for her money, or had some other grudge against the star. According to the Telegraph, Stone is worth more than £9 million, and is one of the Top Five highest-earning female singers in the U.K.
"Joss is aware of the arrests and is being kept informed by the police," one of the singer's reps tells the Guardian. A neighbor told the paper the singer "was quite laid back and not in a major panic" the day after the arrests. What else would you expect from a free-spirit singer who only performs barefoot?
