Child Protective Services Have Already Paid A Visit To Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

New dad Nick Cannon revealed, on Piers Morgan Tonight, that social workers have already paid a visit to he and wife Mariah to check on the well-being of their twins (while they were still in the hospital!).  He said,

"Child protective services were called with allegations that, you know, there was some drinking and drugs and all that going on while in the hospital, which makes no sense to me," said Cannon. "Like, how would a hospital even allow that?"

Nick believes that someone overheard a nurse make a suggestion to Mariah that she drink a small amount of Guinness ale because "the yeast improves breastfeeding."  He said,

"I guess someone maybe overheard that, and this is a good way to make a quick buck, or call the tabloids," he said. "People will do anything to conjure up a story."

We hope all is well with the twins and that Mariah and Nick are cherishing the precious moments!

See Nick gush over the twins in the video below!

Salma Hayek To Sell Her Makeup Line At CVS

Salma Hayek attending the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival May 11, 2011

Salma Hayek's new makeup line, Nuance Salma Hayek, will debut in stores in August.  According to Zap2It, Salma was literally in tears at the line's debut.  She said,

"I took three years off my [acting] career to work on this," said Hayek at the launch on Thursday (May 5) in New York. "This is not something that required 14 hours. Nooo, baby. This has been a full-time job."

Salma had been working on the line for more than a decade-mixing Native American and Mayan remedies learned from her grandmother-a cosmetologist who studied at Vichy Labs in Paris.

According to WWD:

"Ingredients used by her family, some not even known to top chemists, are cornerstones of the collection and range from familiar rosewater to the more obscure tepezcohuite."

I can't wait to try her new line!

Bethenny Frankel Being Sued For $100 million!

Bethenny Frankel
Wow!  Am I reading that number correctly?  $100 million?  Well, the season finale of 'Bethenny Ever After' just ended and now this?  The story is, her ex-manager Doug Wald is suing Bethenny because he claims that he helped her launch the Skinnygirl cocktail brand, but was cut out of the deal that she just made for an estimated $120 million.  Hmmmm......

According to the Hollywood Reporter,

Los Angeles-based Raw Talent sued the Real Housewives of New York and Bethenny Ever After star today in L.A. Superior Court. Raw co-president Doug Wald alleges he met Frankel in May 2008, as she was appearing on Real Housewives, and she expressed interest in launching her own unscripted series. He says he then helped introduce her to some agents at APA that specialize in repping reality stars.

According to the complaint, Frankel signed with APA on August 7, 2008, and also agreed orally that day to retain Wald as her personal manager and pay Raw 10 percent of her earnings (she allegedly confirmed the relationship in an e-mail sent the next day).

Wald says Frankel specifically sought out his advice because she thought the Skinnygirl cocktail was underexploited and he could help her make some money from it.

"She expressly represented that any agreement relating to the exploitation of the Skinnygirl Cocktail Brand would be commissionable under their management agreement," the complaint says.

Wald says he then helped Frankel hook up with liquor industry veteran David Kanbar, who put together a business plan for a company that would buy the brand, use Frankel's celebrity to help market it and sell it in two years for a hefty profit.

But Raw Talent says Frankel fired Wald in November 2008, days before signing her deal to develop and market Skinnygirl.

The brand has become a huge success. Seventeen months after Frankel and Kanbar went into business together, they sold the company in March in what The Hollywood Reporter called a $120 million deal.

Raw Talent now says it's owed 10 percent of that deal, or an estimated $12 million. Plus, the company wants $100 million in punitive damages to make an example out of Frankel.

"Notwithstanding her clear and unambiguous agreement and obligation to pay Raw Talent its 10% commission, Frankel now refuses," the lawsuit says.

We've reached out to Frankel's rep for comment and will update with a response.

The suit, filed by well-known showbiz litigator Bryan Freedman and Joshua Blum, alleges causes of action for fraud, breach of oral contract and other counts.

Well, unfortunately with fame comes lots of headaches and lawsuit!  Sounds like a settlement to me.
