Prince William Breaking Tradition With Not Wearing Wedding Ring Once Married

Kate Middleton and Prince William
I'm trying to figure out if this is weird or not, but Prince William will be breaking tradition by not wearing a wedding ring once he is married (feel free to weigh-in on this topic below).  According to ET, a rep for St. James Palace has confirmed to ET that,

"Prince William will not wear a wedding band. It is the couple's wishes to have one ring. It will be a Welsh gold ring that will be from Prince William to Kate."

People reports that the Queen has given a nugget of Welsh gold (that has been in the family for years) to Prince William as a gift.  That nugget of gold will be fashioned into a wedding band for Kate Middleton, presumably by the Crown Jeweler Harry Collins.
